Genesis 2:4-6

In Genesis 2:4-6 we read that there was a day when heaven and earth were created.

"... These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that The Lord GOD made the earth and the heavens,

And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."
Notice, that time as we know it , began on earth when there was an evening and a morning on the first day. ( See Genesis 1:1-5).
Before time began on earth, there was eternity.
Time had a beginning when heaven and earth were created. ( Genesis 1:1).
In Genesis Chapter One, we have three distinct periods of time that are told know about.
a) The period of time that we cannot measure before the heaven and earth were created. ( See Genesis 1:1).
b) The period of time that we when GOD created the heaven and the earth before the evening and the morning of the first day ;
c) The period of time that we can measure by using Genesis Chapter 1 to 11, as a record to determine when exactly GOD created life on earth.
We see that before the flood of Noah, there was no rain but "... but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground...". ( Genesis 1:6 ).
